Meet Alan Pugh
I am a lifelong Ohioan, ten year Elyrian, and electrical engineering graduate from LCCC. I am the Director of IT for HelloTech, an on-demand tech support startup, and an experienced leader and project manager. As a leader, I've broken the status quo using technology, bottom-up conversations, and smart investments to move my teams forward, and I want to do the same for my city.
Locally, I'm a vendor at the Elyria Farmer's Market, and I oversaw the launch of the Lorain County for Bernie Sanders field office. After the election, we launched Lorain County Forward, a nonprofit focused on finding and developing tomorrow's progressive leaders.
I'm also an activist. Over the years, I've rallied alongside those who seek to raise the minimum wage, reform the criminal justice system, stop the drug war, and demand justice for victims of police brutality. I've camped out and carried petitions, but in 2016, the Bernie Sanders campaign inspired me to do more. It's time for the next generation of progressives to make our mark.
I am passionate about our city and want to amplify the voices who aren't heard nearly enough when planning our future. I want to see a modern, progressive Elyria and a transparent, accountable city government focused on the needs of our working class. I believe in the ideals of FDR's Second Bill of Rights, and I will fight to bring these ideals to life in our city. If you believe that it's time for a new face and a fresh set of ideas to represent your voice in the future of Elyria, please vote for Alan Pugh for Elyria City Council At-Large.
